Video of The Week: “Little Talks” Of Monsters and Men

It’s been making its way around the globe via computer screens since last year, but given the fact the band was just here and their new disc comes out next week, I thought it would be fun to shine the SMI spotlight their way.

Of Monsters and Men could very well be the next indie “it band.” The Icelandic import definitely sounds like they crossed paths with Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and Arcade Fire, but they have their own flavor.

Earlier this week, they played a sold-out show at The Showbox. The new record, “My Head is an Animal,” drops April 2nd.

The video of the single, “Little Talks,” is directed by We Were Monkees Mihai Wilson. It incorporates still photography and mind-melting CGI that takes the viewer on a surreal journey through tormented and menacing skies, sea and land, filled with snowy landscapes.

You can hear some of the new release and read the write-up from KEXP’s Kevin Cole right here.
