Wooden Wisdom Bring the Party on a School Night

Last Tuesday, Wooden Wisdom pulled out all the stops at Capitol Hill’s Q Nightclub for what was probably the funkiest school night ever. The duo of Zach Cowie and Elijah Wood (who, somewhat unfortunately, does not go by DJ Frodo) are a powerhouse pair that mix their set straight from their own vinyl collections. It’s as fun to dance to as it is to watch as they sort through their records for the next rhythm they’ll spin.

The crowd was rowdy (with camera phones at the ready) when Wooden Wisdom hit the stage at midnight. With a rhythmic mix of old school sounds as well as international flair, club goers were happy to dance into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Though  Cowie (aka Turquoise Wisdom) is known primarily for his music, it’s likely that you’ve heard of Wood for his other work as an actor. Luckily for lovers of hella fresh sounds (or whatever the kids are calling them these days), this pairing is a hit, celebrity factor or not. And who knows? Maybe in a few years you’ll be watching The Lord of the Rings to see one-half of that DJ duo you love so much.
