There are several reasons to go to Substation for #41for2015 Fest over the next few days starting tonight at 8:30 PM.

  1. You are interested in up and coming local bands that have been handpicked as the best of the bunch by NadaMucho.com.
  2. You haven’t yet been to Substation, Fremont/Ballard’s newest club and want to check it out.
  3. You want to be able to brag to your friends about how “I saw that band back when they…blah blah blah”

Substation is hosting nineteen (well, eighteen plus an anagrammed Ever So Android) of 41 bands that NadaMucho culled from the chaff by listening to countless demo tapes. There will also be art showings and happy hour drinks every evening of the Fest from Thursday through Sunday. A ticket to all five days of #41for2015 is $30, while happy hour entry is $5 and entry at showtime is $8. Think about what you’ll be getting for just a few bucks: you’ll instantly become miles cooler because you’ll be in the know.

Christine Mitchell has been poring over album liner notes pretty much since she acquired the skill of reading, and figured out the basic structure of rock songs at an early age. Whether it’s the needle popping into the first groove of the record, the beeps that signal the beginning (or end) of a cassette tape, or digital numbers ticking off the seconds from zero, music brings Christine happiness, ponderous thought, opportunities for almost scientific study, and sometimes a few tears. When she started attending live shows two decades ago, a whole new piece of the puzzle clicked in and she has been hooked ever since.
