Legendary heavy metal gods Judas Priest brought their Firepower Tour back to the Accesso Showare Center in Kent, WA. They were just in town just over a year ago in April 2018, and played a set that was packed full of their more familiar tracks as well as a good selection from their latest album Firepower.

This time, however, the band played songs that haven’t been heard live in years, decades, or ever. The band, which consists of Rob Halford (vocals), Richie Faulkner (lead guitar), Andy Sneap (lead guitar), Ian Hill (bass) and Travis Scott (drums), opened the show with the hard hitting “Necromancer.” With Faulkner to the left and Sneap to the right, Halford made his way to center stage decked out in a purple voodoo outfit with a top hat and cane, which was topped off with a diamond covered skull.

The band then played back to back fan favorites “Heading Out to the Highway” and “The Sentinel.” The band had played some vintage and classic tracks as well as familiar fan favorites that spanned their 40 plus year career.

Many an old time head banger as well as many younger fans in attendance were surprised and blown away hearing “Tyrant,” “Steeler,” “(Take These) Chains,” and “Starbreaker” performed live. Everyone in the near capacity crowd was on their feet, hands flashing the horns up high, head banging along with the mighty sounds.

Halford’s voice is better than ever, hitting the high notes that others half his age struggle with. This was evident during the band’s blistering performance of “All Guns Blazing.” With the massive lighting production and video clips played on the large screen behind the band, Judas Priest played a near perfect 75 minute set that had everyone chanting “Priest! Priest! Priest!”

As always, the highlight of the night is when Halford rides his Harley Davidson on to the stage when the band jumps into “Hell Bent for Leather” to kick off the band’s three track encore, which also included the ever iconic “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight.”
