Back in the early 80’s when MTV actually played videos and the “M” stood for music, Thomas Dolby’s “She Blinded Me With Science” was a video staple.
The catchy little tune put him on the map and introduced a generation to an eclectic fusion of technology and music.
Just recently, Mr. Dolby released his first full length record in twenty years,“A Map of The Floating City.” The critically acclaimed disc picks up where the artist left off in in 1992.
He’s currently on tour in support of the new record. The U.S. leg wrapped up in Los Angeles earlier this week. Last week, he was in Seattle and played a fantastic show at Showbox at the Market. It’s no surprise, then, that this week’s featured guest on SMI Radio is the innovative, genre-busting Thomas Dolby. He gets very candid about his music career, his foray into the world of Hi-Tech, and his impact on the industries of music and technology. Stop in and get the scoop on his current “Time Capsule Tour,” which includes a traveling “time machine,” along with some faves from his catalogue.
SMI Radio can be heard each week…
