Swedish heavy metal giants Sabaton kicked off their North American tour (dubbed The Tour to End All Tours) on Thursday September 15, 2022, at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA.

Sabaton (Joakim Broden (vocals), Tommy Johansson (guitar), Chris Rorland (guitar), Par Sundstrom (bass) and Hannes Van Dahl (drums)) are touring in support of their latest release, The War to End All Wars. The band’s music centers around major historical events, primarily military history, and Sabaton not only creates music that tells the stories of these events, but their music videos are often history lessons. Their stage production is also centered around the theme of their music.

The stage production for this tour features a tank for the drum riser, barbed wire at the front of the stage, mic stands that have rifles and helmets as well as large screens that played videos to either introduce the band prior to coming onto the stage, or to complement the songs that the band performed.

Though there was a late start in getting the audience into the venue and then also a late start to get the show started, everyone in attendance were there to see Sabaton and experience Swedish Power Metal.

Sabaton played material off of their latest release, as well as a great selection of music from their deep catalog of releases.

Opening the show were another mainstay from the Power Metal genre, Epica (Simone Simons (vocals), Mark Jansen (rhythm guitar), Coen Janssen (keyboard), Arien Van Weesenbeek (drums) and Issac Delahaye (lead guitar)), who are touring supporting their newest release, Omega. Though there were a few technical difficulties that resulted in a delayed start, Epica put on an outstanding performance that surely gained them some new fans.
