Summer Circus Takes Live Show Experience to New Heights

Okay okay okay! It finally looks like summer is set to begin! The weather icons are finally blessing us with sun, sun, sun. We wouldn’t begrudge you a cartwheel or two of joy, but if you want to bathe in friction and contortion, we can’t think of a better place to visit than The Crocodile on Friday, July 26th for Summer Circus.

This Friday, expand your expectations of what a rock show can be. Glam goth quintet Razor Clam, glitteriffic pop rockers Fruit Juice, dreamy baroque pop songwriter Heather Edgley, and the perplexing post-horncore five-piece Actionesse will feature alongside circus performers like aerialists, acrobats and more.

If last year’s Summer Circus was telling, this year is sure to satisfy.

“Summer Circus, a night of grand sights, spirited music, and daredevil feats. Independent musical and circus acts entertained the audience for a night of original art and captivating community.”

Christine Mitchell has been poring over album liner notes pretty much since she acquired the skill of reading, and figured out the basic structure of rock songs at an early age. Whether it’s the needle popping into the first groove of the record, the beeps that signal the beginning (or end) of a cassette tape, or digital numbers ticking off the seconds from zero, music brings Christine happiness, ponderous thought, opportunities for almost scientific study, and sometimes a few tears. When she started attending live shows two decades ago, a whole new piece of the puzzle clicked in and she has been hooked ever since.
