Jacksonville, FL based rock band Shinedown, have been playing to theaters and smaller venues on the West Coast leg of their tour. They brought their exceptional showmanship to the Moore Theater in Seattle. The venue sold out shortly after tickets had gone on sale and fans of the band were out early and in full force.

The band brought their usual full arena production with them and somehow they were able to get the pyrotechnics, the large LCD screens, and the lighting that they have been known for over the course of their career.

The band is a well-oiled machine and on this night, they were at the top of their game from the beginning to the end of their 100 minute set that covered their greatest hits and some deep cuts, as well as the performance of their latest single, “Planet Zero”.

The band, which consists of Brent Smith (vocals), Zach Myers (guitar), Eric Bass (bass guitar) and Barry Kerch (drums), continue to get better over time and this evening was no exception. Shinedown opened their set with “Cut The Cord” before moving into “Unity.” The band then reached way back to their debut album for “Fly From The Inside,” which had a large amount of flashing strobes and bright lighting that lit up the entire theater.

Smith asked the crowd to look the person to their right and to their left, then say hello, high five or shake each other’s hands and to live in and appreciate the moment. He also explained that the evening was about rock and roll, and that rock and roll is a lifestyle and that we were there to enjoy life as one large rock and roll family.

The band literally brought the fire during “If You Only Knew” and “Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom),” when there were numerous concussion bombs and large flames.

The band then played their latest single “Planet Zero,” which got a great response. This is the title track to their upcoming album which will be released on April 22, 2022

The band closed out their performance with three of their more popular songs, which had everyone in attendance singing along. “Second Chance,” a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” and the fan favorite “Sound of Madness.”

It has been a few years since Shinedown has performed in the Seattle area, and the band promised it wouldn’t be long before they return.

Walking onto the stage with no introduction or fanfare, Seattle’s Ayron Jones got the night started with their scorcher “Boys From The Puget Sound” and performed their other singles “Supercharged” and “Mercy.” Ayron Jones also performed “Breed” by Nirvana which got the crowd fired up. Jones didn’t say much between songs, but he let the music do the talking and won over new fans.
