Daryl Hall at the Paramount Theater

Though not at capacity, there was a huge turnout on a Thursday at Seattle’s Paramount Theater to witness performances but not one, but two, Hall of Fame artists on the same bill.

Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates fame as well as his widely popular Live From Daryl’s House recently released his latest effort, the two disc set Before After, and has been touring across the states playing a mixture of Hall originals, some Hall & Oates covers as well as covers from the Eurythmics and The Soul Survivors.

Todd Rundgren got the evening started and was backed by the always incredible Daryl’s House Band. He performed a nearly sixty minute set that started with “Real Man”. He played some of his hit singles including “We Gotta Get You a Woman”, “I Saw The Light”, and “Hello, It’s Me” (the later from when Rundgren was in Nazz) which got the biggest response from those in attendance.  

After a quick intermission, Hall opened his set with “Dreamtime,” the opening track off of his new release. Hall performed a good number of select tracks from his latest release – “Problem with You”, “I’m In A Philly Mood”, “Babs and Babs” and “Sacred Song” – as well as performing some of the more popular Hall & Oates tracks such as “Sara Smile”, “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” and “It’s Uncanny”.

During the encore, Hall was joined on stage by Rundgren and they proceeded to perform “Wait For Me” by Hall & Oates, “Can We Still Be Friends” by Todd Rundgren and “Expressway to Your Heart” by The Soul Survivors. Hall finished the evening with an exceptional performance of “You Make My Dreams” by Hall & Oates.
